Anambra Schools Re-Open, But Pupils Stay At Home

The Anambra state Governor Chief Willie Obiano has directed civil and public servants in the state, as well as primary and secondary school teachers to resume work on Monday, but that pupils and students should remain at home.

Rather than go back to school the pupils and students should follow and learn through the state radio broadcast and online platforms.

The directive was given in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu. Waec Runs

It also directed all workers and residents of the state to procure protective face masks which it said is now compulsory in the State.

It emphasized that workers and visitors will not be allowed access into the state secretariat and other government offices without wearing face masks.

This is apart from the normal protocol outlined to avoid contractiing COVID-19.

Though the government has relaxed restrictions in movements it said all other rules made at the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic remained such as the protocols at public gatherings which should not exceed 30 persons, and places of worship.

The State Government also encouraged families to bury their loved ones as soon as death occurs but that the burial should not involve more than 30 persons.

It said it would hold traditional rulers and Presidents General of Town Unions, community leaders and law enforcement agencies resposible to ensure that the rules are followed.
